At the end of a cycle, a day, a week, a year, or a project, a journey or an experience it is necessary to give up control, to let go, to accept an ending so that can be a new beginning. In today’s world it’s a common symptom for us to to get stuck in one part of a cycle or in a set of habits. Looked at in the context of a day, this could be to not get the deep sleep necessary to give birth to a new day, to wake refreshed . This idea led me to create a piece of music to aid meditation and to create a bridge between day and night. to help induce good sleep. Valerian is a perennial plant, the root of which acts as a natural anxiety inhibitor and sedative. Galen, the ancient Greek physician and philosopher prescribed it as a remedy for insomnia. The intention of this piece of music is to complement the herb and perhaps also be an auditory relation in it’s own right.
